Description

What is MeasureEffect suitable for?

MeasureEffect is a software solution that becomes especially relevant in the context of PV measurements when measurement data should not only be collected, but structured, managed, evaluated and converted into reports.

For O&M companies, the individual function is less important than the overall workflow: How are plants, projects, strings and measurement points represented? How does data get from the field to the office? How are reports created and reviewed?

sunparq therefore does not assess software in isolation, but as part of a functioning measurement operation with measuring instrument, team, data structure, reporting and ongoing support.

Features

Which tasks MeasureEffect can support in the measurement process

MeasureEffect is particularly relevant for managing, evaluating and documenting measurement data from compatible Sonel measuring instruments. In the O&M process, the decisive point is less a single function and more how project structure, measurement data management, export and reporting work together cleanly across the operating period.

Project structure

Plants, projects, measurement points and measurement data can be organized in a structured way. This is the basis for assigning measurements clearly, reviewing them and using them traceably in reporting later.

Data management

The cloud supports the management of measurement data over the operating period. Measurement history, project status and results can therefore be organized more centrally and kept available for later checks or comparisons.

Data transfer from the measuring instrument

Measurement data is taken over or synchronized directly from compatible Sonel measuring instruments. A general data import from external files or third-party formats is currently not the main focus of the workflow.

Export & reporting

Results can be exported for further processing or issued as a finished report. Excel exports, test documentation and reports for internal quality assurance, EPCs, asset managers or operators are especially relevant.

Classification in the measurement process

MeasureEffect in combination with measuring instrument, training and workflow

MeasureEffect delivers most value when measuring instrument, project structure, data transfer, export and reporting are considered together. For O&M teams, the software itself is therefore not the only relevant factor, but also the practical handling of PVM-1530 Pro, IRM-1, measurement data and reporting requirements.

Compatible measuring instruments

MeasureEffect should always be considered in connection with the measuring instruments used - especially the Sonel PVM-1530 Pro, IRM-1 and the question of how measurement data is created in the field.

Training for PVM-1530 Pro & MeasureEffect

The training combines instrument operation, measurement practice, IRM-1 use, MeasureEffect, data structure, analysis and reporting into an applicable workflow for solar park O&M.

Assessment before rollout or standardization

When it is still unclear how measuring instrument, software, data structure and reports should fit together, an assessment helps clarify requirements, roles and next steps before implementation.

Workflow

From measurement to a reliable report

MeasureEffect delivers its value when the process from measurement preparation through field data capture to direct data transfer from the measuring instrument and the finished report is clearly defined.

1

Prepare measurement

Define plant structure, project setup, measurement points, team roles and expected report structure in advance so that later measurement data can be assigned clearly.

2

Capture data

Generate measurement data consistently in the field with compatible Sonel measuring instruments, assign environmental parameters cleanly and record measurement points traceably.

3

Transfer data

Take over or synchronize measurement data directly from the measuring instrument and assign it within MeasureEffect to the correct project, measurement point and test task.

4

Create report

Review and structure data, then provide it as a finished report or through export formats such as Excel and CSV for quality assurance, EPCs, asset managers or operators.

Solar park practice example

MeasureEffect + PVM-1530 Pro in the solar park

A typical use case is DC-side testing of a solar park. The O&M company is responsible for technical operation and must prepare, carry out and document initial testing or recurring tests efficiently.

Ideally, clean plant documentation is already available: PV modules used, wiring, transformer stations, inverters and string structure. This documentation forms the basis for cost-efficient technical operation and for a reliable measurement solution concept.

Preparation takes place in the office. The PV module database is aligned with the documentation, required measurement procedures are defined and the plant structure is represented in MeasureEffect. The relevant measurement procedures are then assigned to the strings.

On site, the measurement technician works along this prepared structure. They select the relevant string, connect the measuring instrument and start the measurement. The decision about which procedure to run has already been made beforehand. This reduces sources of error and makes field work easier.

After the measurements are completed, the data can be synchronized to the cloud, reviewed in the office and then exported or converted into test reports. Depending on the requirement, custom customer templates or predefined reports can be used.

Classification

When MeasureEffect can be a good fit and when the workflow should be checked

MeasureEffect should not be assessed as isolated software, but in combination with measuring instrument, team roles, project structure, data transfer from the measuring instrument, export and reporting. The decisive factor is whether the workflow fits the actual measurement practice and the requirements in O&M operations.

Can be a good fit when …

  • compatible Sonel measuring instruments such as the PVM-1530 or PVM-1530 Pro are used.
  • measurement data should be managed in a structured way over the operating period.
  • projects, measurement points and reports need to be organized more consistently.
  • Excel exports, CSV files or finished reports should be integrated into the O&M process.
  • software, training and measurement practice should be introduced together as a workflow.

Check first when …

  • measurement data from third-party instruments or external files should be imported.
  • several software solutions are already being used in parallel.
  • customer-specific reports vary significantly or require additional processing outside the software.
  • project, plant and measurement point structures have not yet been standardized.
  • several O&M partners are expected to deliver data in different structures.

Next steps

From software to productive data and reporting practice

Value is not created by the software license alone. The decisive factor is whether team, measuring instruments, data structure and reporting process fit together.

Training

For teams that want to use MeasureEffect or comparable software safely in their measurement and reporting process.

Measurement Rollout

For companies that want to introduce measuring instrument, software, data structure, training and reporting as one overall process.

Operational Readiness

For teams that need ongoing support, onboarding, report reviews and process updates after implementation.

Introduce software into the measurement process

MeasureEffect delivers its value only in the right workflow

The decisive point is not only the software itself, but the clean connection with measuring instrument, team, plant structure, data management and reporting.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about MeasureEffect

The following questions help classify how MeasureEffect can be used in the PV measurement process and which points should be considered for project structure, data transfer, export, reporting and training.

Is MeasureEffect only software or part of a larger workflow?

MeasureEffect should always be seen as part of a measurement, data and reporting workflow. The real value is created only when measuring instrument, project structure, data transfer, analysis, export and reporting logic work together cleanly.

For O&M teams this means that the software must not only be operable, but also integrated into the real field process and later technical documentation.

Which measuring instruments are relevant for MeasureEffect?

MeasureEffect is especially relevant in combination with compatible Sonel measuring instruments, particularly the PVM-1530 and PVM-1530 Pro in the PV environment.

The decisive point is that measuring instrument, IRM-1, measurement task, data transfer and project structure are prepared in advance so that the data can later be assigned clearly and evaluated traceably.

Can MeasureEffect import data from external files?

A general import of data from external files or third-party formats is currently not the main focus of the workflow. Data transfer mainly takes place directly from compatible Sonel measuring instruments.

For O&M teams, it is therefore important to check in advance which measuring instruments are being used, which data sources are required and whether external data may need to be processed outside MeasureEffect.

Which export and reporting options are relevant?

Structured exports and finished reports are especially relevant. Measurement results can be exported for further processing, for example as Excel or CSV files, or transferred into report templates.

In the O&M context, it should be defined in advance which information a report must contain, who reviews it and how the results are used for EPCs, asset managers, operators or internal quality assurance.

Does sunparq offer training for MeasureEffect?

Yes. The training for PVM-1530 Pro and MeasureEffect combines instrument operation, measurement practice, IRM-1 use, data structure, analysis and reporting into an applicable workflow.

The goal is not only to explain individual software functions, but to build the entire process from measurement preparation through data transfer to the finished report in a practice-oriented way.

Can sunparq optimize existing MeasureEffect workflows?

Yes. Often the issue is not a complete software change, but better project structure, clearer roles, cleaner assignment of measurement points, less manual rework and more usable reports.

sunparq can assess existing workflows as part of an assessment, rollout, report review or Operational Readiness and derive concrete improvements for data management and reporting.

Is an assessment useful before implementation?

Yes, especially when several teams, plants, measuring instruments or reporting requirements are involved. An assessment helps clarify measurement tasks, project structure, data transfer, export logic and reporting requirements before implementation.

This makes it easier to decide whether training is sufficient or whether a structured rollout, a report review or Operational Readiness is more useful.
